August 2, 2017 (Houston, TX) - Lance McNeel, Vice President of Business Development for Capstone Associated Services, Ltd., addressed members of the Asian American Hotel Owners Association (AAHOA) at its North Texas annual meeting in Dallas on August 1, 2017.
McNeel's presentation,"Captive Insurance: How Savvy Hotel Owners Reduce the Total Cost of Risk," included an overview of captives, as they relate to the specific risks experienced by the hospitality industry, such as the loss of a franchise relationship, the loss of a key reservation service, the loss of a key employer, and liability resulting from employment practices. The presentation was well-received, providing hospitality industry attendees with a deep understanding of the risk coverage and financial benefits of captive planning, including a 0% Federal income tax on the captive's underwriting profits, along with the availability of secured loans and dividends.
In total, there were more than 500 Association members in attendance from in and around Texas.
